About the Author

C. H. Daniels writes literary outdoor nonfiction about friendship, memory, dogs, wild places, and what those experiences reveal about us.

While his stories usually begin with fly fishing, upland hunting, or time spent afield, they are usually less about the pursuit itself, and more about the people and relationships that make those experiences worth remembering. Charlie writes for much the same reason he takes photographs—to preserve the people, places, and stories that time might otherwise carry away.

His work has appeared in Sports Afield, The Drake Magazine, Project Upland, The Virginia Sportsman, On The Fly Magazine, Palomino County, Feathers & Whiskey, Strung Sporting Journal,
Southern Culture on the Fly, and others.

Raised in southwest Pennsylvania, Charlie spent years as a corporate nomad before becoming an award-winning writer, storyteller, and flyfishing guide for organizations such as Veterans Flyfishing and Project Healing Waters Flyfishing. After more than twenty relocations, he and his very understanding spouse now call North Georgia home, though a part of him still misses the Rockies.

Charlie would love to hear from you. If your message goes unanswered for a few days, don’t worry. He’s probably out in the wilds somewhere without a signal gathering material for his
next story…
