The Gospel according to Pyramid Lake
Pyramid lake, home of the Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. I just went with a cast of characters I call friends. The scenery was beautiful. The sunrises, to say the least, were stunning. Nothing quite like standing atop a ladder in about 4 feet of water watching the sun come over the mountains. After almost a week of being abused by the wind and the cold, the score was a little one sided. Two of our party had hooked and landed the fabled Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. Two of our party did not. I was in the latter group. Skunked. One of my friends told me this would be a religious experience. Evidently Pyramid Lake has its own set of commandments and one of them is “Thou Shall Not Catch Fish.” Just got a big old serving of humble pie!
